I can't believe it's been so long again......I said that I would post my last finished project and I didn't because I keep changing little things so it's really not finished.
Here is the project that I just posted on today's post for the store: http://www.scrapbookersparadise.blogspot.ca/
I still have a few things to finish on the page. There is some doodling missing and some of the journaling is missing.
Today’s post is all about ‘Getting it Done’. Have you taken pictures lately and when you
took them you thought about how you can’t wait to scrap them? That would be the story teller in you and it’s
important not to ignore that inner voice.
I love scrapbooking and I’m a traditional scrapper. I love the feel of the papers and I love that
creative side but I don’t generally have the initial excitement that I had when
I took the picture when I finally get around to scrapping it. This is why I’ve decided to embrace the
‘Pocket Scrapbooking’. The concept is
pretty much the same as ‘Project 365’ or ‘Project Life’ or whatever you’ve
decided to call it. This way I can get
what I really want to say down on paper before I forget it. I also love photography and using large
images on a page and I don’t want to give that up. This is easily solved when you pick out your
page design. I decided to pick a layout
that will embrace this concept for me.
I picked this design with one large 6” x 12” space and 8
smaller pictures. These are 3” squares
so it allows me to use either my horizontal or my vertical shots.
In the past we took less pictures and the task of getting
them in an album was not as daunting.
Now we take a ton of pictures and what are we going to do with them
all. Print your favorites right away or
at least put them in a folder that you have named appropriately. I call mine ‘selects’.
My memory is terrible lately so I’m also
going to write a note on the back of my photos with the file name and date so
that I can go back to this folder and choose some of my favorites from my
‘selects’ folder to scrap traditionally at a later date. The difference between what I have in this picture and what I will actually reference is that the file will not be on my computer's hard drive but it will be on an external drive. I keep very little pictures on my hard drive. I really only keep the stuff that I'm presently working on. I will use my quick books to guide my memory.
I used ACDSee pro 6 for this reference because it is the easiest and least expensive photo sorting program but I use Lightroom 4 on a more regular basis.
So for all intents and purposes, they will be my reference books. My grandchildren will get to enjoy them right
away while the memory is still ‘FUN’ to see.
Until next time,
