A-Muse-ing

We're going away for the weekend and I didn't want to drive very far but a friend really wanted to go to Whitefish, Montana which is a 6 hour drive so he really went out of his way to entice me.

The first thing he did was use his best sales pitch and he called me at home and wouldn't give up until I agreed to look at the lodging links that he would send,....and send he did.  He followed through with a sappy email and links to many condos which I have taken out here.

Here are some of my favorite lines:

  • I just wanted to re-iterate that this is not a Family Day weekend. This is a Sandy Day weekend!
  • Besides Whitefish offering beautiful boutique stores and plenty of photo options for scrapbooking...,,
  • If what you see here has an issues we will work diligently to make any corrections. Your comfort and enjoyment is our number one goal!
  • Basically all this is about Sandy and letting you know that we are willing to do what it takes to have you join us for the weekend. We want the opportunity to enjoy your company and show you how special you are to each and every one of us.

However, this is nothing compared to what came next.....This is a picture of a site that he sent me a link to.

These are live links and he actually put this page together just to lure me.  Imagine the time it took to build this page as a prank.  My dear husband decided that I should know the truth before I started packing for a Scrapbook weekend.  Isn't this Hilarious!!!

Volunteer Fun and Work Tomorrow!

In 1989, my oldest daughter Jennifer decided that she wanted to try Synchronized Swimming and this became a major part of her life right up until the time she graduated from university in Texas.  Her Synchro actually got her a full ride scholarship in Texas where she now resides with her American husband and my two very special grand-daughters.   I miss them tons but on the bright side, it's a great place to visit in the winter.

Here's a picture of Jennifer (right) with her duet partner Jessica in their first year of Synchro!

Back now, to why I began this story ......I started judging (officiating) Synchro in 1990 and I still judge to this day.  The sport has led to many friendships across the country and an enormous appreciation for these dedicated athletes.  Tomorrow and Sunday, Calgary is hosting Provincial Championships and I get to play judge for the weekend.  I just saw these girls compete only two weeks ago and I know that there will already be marked improvements from all of the athletes.

Now here are some of the projects that I did with all that Bo-Bunny product.  I also did a card which I will be revealing when I add the butterfly tutorial.  This post will be coming up next weekend.  In the mean time I will be tackling the 'Boy Crazy' collection from My Mind's Eye.

Good-Night Y'all, (I have to be at my best in the morning)

Another Year Older and absolutely Wiser!!!

Yesterday was my Birthday.  There's nothing more endearing than reading so many wonderful Birthday Wishes on Facebook from across the world!  I genuinely feel so blessed to know so many great people, have the BEST husband ever and the most awesome children!  And then there's the grandchildren.....

"If I had known grandchildren were this much fun I would have had them first."

Shhhhhh! You can't tell anyone, but its true.  I couldn't be with my girls today but Koen came over.  He arrived with a nice bouquet of flowers that looked like they were getting squeezed to death and a huge grin on his face.

Today, at 51 oops! 52, I learned so many new things from a two year old....

1. He showed me how to do 'snow angels' on the hardwood floor.

2. Perfect Raspberries!

3. How to train a dog by staring him into the eyes!

And last but not least.....Koen taught me how to persevere, never quit and how to make puzzles for hours at a time!  Some might even call it an obsession!  Now I have to go out and find some more challenging puzzles.  He has pretty much mastered anything up to 33 pieces and no picture.

It really was a very nice day!

This week I will post my first technique as I just got so many new and exciting products to play with!

Here's what I had to play with from Bo-Bunny's Isabella Collection:

Today is the start of a new year!  How can 53 possibly top 52?

Getting my Feet WET......

I've resisted for so long but alas, the time has come.

I love Blogs!  But usually this is everybody else's Blog. I decided to throw in the towel and get my feet wet because I have so much to say and show and I just can't tie my children down long enough to tell them everything and to show them the newest thing (usually a crafty project) that I made.  I was at CHA for work recently (that's the Craft and Hobby Association) and I got to see a multimedia art demo from Dyan Reaveley.  Dyan is a very talented, rather Funky Lady of the same age-ish as me.  I loved what she did and I was completely inspired by her demo.....but.....I could totally relate to what she was saying.

“I think, (insert cute English accent here) everybody thinks they’re so precious, they’re one day going to get to the library,…….they’re NOT!  No, No, Nobody cares about your journals except you.  My kids say…..’Please don’t leave me these things…Please………’”

A Blog is something that my children can look at on their own time and/or show my grandchildren since they are often the stars of most of my shows.  I still get my way.

This should be a fun journey so please enjoy this journey with me as I hope to pass along a lot of fun tips and techniques that I have acquired over several decades of Crafting, Collecting and Organizing.

Enjoy the journey,
