NO - They're not REAL....., they're Paper!

So much planned for today, but instead I was checking out a rescue dog in Red Deer.  We're finally ready for a new dog but as previous Schnauzer owners, we're not too flexible on the breed,  We want another Schnauzer but this isn't an easy task.

As promised though, here are the instructions with all supplies linked for my Scrapbook Layout that I just posted on the Design Team Blog.  The Layout originated from my deciding how I would use this Hibiscus that I made.  I was so surprised at how much fun these flowers would be to make.  They just look very finicky but they really aren't.  A flower like this can be pretty on it's own but I needed it to work on my layout, so I just smooshed it flat and tucked the leaves in underneath.  My vines are from the Spellbinder's Foliage set and I just lined and veined them with my new tools and they look great this way.  I will probably use these more now.

Here is a closer look at the flattened flower.

The actual Layout is filled with numerous Doilies.  I started with my large doily that I cut with my We R Lucky 8 Punch.  As usual, I started with a white canvas and I sprayed it brown, crumpled it and distressed the edges with my Prima Distresser.  I love this rasp for distressing and it is a big go-to tool in my craft room.
I just cut a large circle with my Cricut and distressed those edges.  I first laid down my large doily, followed it up with multiple smaller doilies, DL233,  DL234 DL237,  from Cheery Lynn.  I just cut each of these in half and tucked those under my large circle in no particular order.

The letters are my favorite part of this layout.  They started out as letters exactly like the ones in the picture below.  Up close these look nicely aged and yet the process was ridiculously easy.  I used my Color Catcher to spray them all with the Olive Vine Glimmer Mist, Black,  Orchid Glimmer Mist and last but most important  is the final layer of White Linen Dylusion Ink Spray. I sprayed all of these in the order listed above without letting this dry between coats and the result is great as it turned out with just the right amount of blotchiness.

I planned how I would lay everything out on my page and that is my page in a nutshell!  I'm still going to add a bit of journalling which will probably be a tag that can tuck in at the top of my page.

Hope you enjoyed this,
